Creatures of Whitechapel
STORY
image movie

Jack (Carlee Baker) makes a new friend out of Catherine Eddowes (Crystal Udy).

Produced in collaboration with Regent’s University London, classic Gothic Horror returns with a fresh take on Frankenstein and the Whitechapel murders.

Gothic horror reborn. The film is a colorful and erotic ode to the vintage Hammer Horror way of telling a monster movie, wherein the monsters are not the creatures but their creators.

Jack the Ripper (Carlee Baker) stalks the streets of London, searching for the perfect victims to help Dr. Frankenstein (Barrett Ogden), her master, bring his Creation to life. However, rumors of Frankenstein’s nighttime activities are brewing, and Jack, revealed to be Igor, is tasked with one last foray into the bowels of Victorian London to find the last piece needed to bring Frankenstein’s mad vision to life. A deadly love triangle is sparked between the titular characters, and the image of the legends will forever be changed.

But what is life without love?

Transforming Utah into 1888 London through smoke and mirrors and well designed sets, Creatures of Whitechapel is a throwback to the classic way of telling a horror tale while spinning the well known characters, and what they are, on their heads. Practical SFX, sets, and period fittings all gather into a vintage experience with modern sensibilities. Produced in collaboration with Regent’s University London as part of Rebecca Martin’s (Jonathan’s sister) graduation project, the film came together from concept to filming in six weeks, and World Premiered in Oscar Qualifying Competition at the world famous Sitges Film Festival in October 2016.
